I've installed it and I KNOW I don't have any conflicting mods however nothing happens when I press F1 Did I install it incorrectly or do specific things need to be done?
Update: Moving the package file out running it closing and running again seemed to work
I'm currently having a problem where my Sims walk in the direction I tell them to but then they just kind of keep walking forever through walls and objects and everything. Is this an issue with the latest update or is it a mod conflict?
This mod isn't working I press wasd and the sim stands still and then teleports to where to where they would've walked. There's no actual walking going on.
To anyone with the mod not working when pressing F1, its cos of betterbuildbuy. You cant have both installed right now as the old patch for betterbuildbuy is outdated .
It is not smooth for me at all. I'm bumping into things a lot. its cos of the way sims movement is coded I guess. Please, will you create a mini version of this mod with only the movement though doors. maybe even a click prompt on a door is enough. or maybe the ability to bring down walls like in normal third person. thanks!
Direct Controls is confirmed to be working with the latest patch 1.89.214.1030. All modules are loaded correctly and the tray UI didn't change with the patch. Make sure to enable the mod by pressing F1 or typing dc on the cheat console. Are you experiencing any other problems?

can you please create a small (maybe) mod. mod so that there are more cell phones and that you can also place them on the table and in your inventory. and if you don't have that cell phone in your inventory, you can't use it. such a mod we give more realistic😁😁😁😁😁😁😁👍

I'm the developer behind both mods, so I can say for certain that they are compatible. These conflicts are just false positives as I've used the same UI system on both mods.
Hey, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the mod you created. I’ve been looking for something like that for years now and finally found it. This changes the game and its gameplay tremendously. I know the mod is one year old, but I still wanted to thank you and share my ideas.
So, I’ve been thinking and the concept is really good but there are just two things that would be great if they could be changed. I heard other people talk about this too, it’s the camera movement and change of direction. Maybe it could be possible to let the sim change direction when holding the right mouse button down and dragging the mouse in the preferred direction while pressing W. Then the camera perspective would also shift with the change of direction. I hope this is understandable. I never programmed a mod like this, so I don’t know how hard or possible it is. Many direct control/first people games work like that. Games such as Minecraft, GTA 5, Roblox... I’m not sure if you know any of these games, but they all use this technique which makes moving quite easy cause you basically only use your W key and your right mouse button.
One thing that is also a little annoying are the doors. Every time I play in the first-person mode I have to go out and make my sim go to the other side so that the door opens. Maybe there could be a way that the doors open automatically (like a door sensor) or you can open the door by clicking on it.
Again, I would like to point out that I highly appreciate the amazing mod you created, and these are just some ideas. I don’t know if your gonna see this but it's worth trying I guess. 😊

its working for me with the most recent dlcs, except with the online mod.
Do you think it's a simulation lag issue? Cause I don't have any conflicting mods from what I know.

Hey, is it possible that the latest patch: 1.89.214.1030 is so much different that your "May Fix" for 1.88.228.1020 isn't supported anymore?

Do you have BetterBuildBuy or BuildMode FreeCam installed? If so, you must uninstall those in order for Direct Controls to work.

I'm not aware of it right now. But you can try using it without BetterBuildBuy to see if it works. Let me know how it goes!
Freecam is included with BBB, likely why it wont work.

Even after installing and getting the welcome pop up I can't activate it with my F1 and typing DC in the cheats does nothing at all. =(

Same here, dc settings says its enabled and nothing happens.
It doesn't work for me, not sure why. I pressed F1 and tried the cheat "dc" as well. It always shows as "off" in the mod settings.

The Sims 4 Direct Controls is built on the patch v1.73.57.1030 (May 2021) and might not work in previous versions of the game.
Make sure to update your game via Origin.
